Our youngest innovators (ages 4-10) can participate in our FIRST Lego League Discover and Explorer teams. Programs use Lego elements to introduce students to engineering and logic concepts through a fun story environment. Students meet 1x - 2x per week after school and celebrate what they have learned at the end of the season during a festival awards.
First Lego League Challenge (FLL-C) uses Lego Spike Prime to challenge students in a 2.5 minute autonomous robot game. Students learn the FIRST core values and apply them through robot design, game competition, and a research project based on the year's theme. Students (ages 9-16) work ~5 months meeting 2x-3x per week. Teams range from beginning to advanced.
Our advanced elementary students can apply to become part of our National Robotics Challenge (NRC) teams. These teams compete in a variety of challenges in smaller groups. Students use robotic kits similar to our older students including gears, motors, programming, and remote control. Students must be invited or tryout to join a team.
